Today as it gets closer to Christmas i have been doing a lot of thinking. We as Americans are so consumed in our own thoughts and decisions we are always to busy, or don't have the time or money to help someone. As you go into your grocery store to buy food for your own family someone might approach you and as you to buy something they are selling. We often say no and come to the conclusion that they just need the money to buy drugs or alcohol, do we ever think that maybe they need it to support there kids at home and are willing to do everything for there kids. There are so many people out there that need our help and support and we are so consumed with our lives that we don't even notice them. Last week this hit me hard because some girl came to student venture and she had no friends what really bothered me was that i hadn't even noticed here before, she went to our school 3 months before this. How hard is it to see someone sitting by themselves and ask them to eat lunch with me? So many people are just worrying about money, who they have to get presents for, and what they are going to get and in reality that's never what Jesus would want us to do, so why do we keep our thoughts on this. So many people are just worried about what they want. Would you really be content with getting nothing and worrying only about god? I'm sure your first instinct would be yes but in reality im pretty sure not a lot of people would be happy about this.
